Biography

Jenny was born in the morning of August 27th, 1976. She was born in Policlínica Santiago de León, Caracas, in the beautiful country of Venezuela. She has a younger sister, Mary (me), and a younger brother, William.

Jenny studied Kindergarden in Colegio Los Dos Caminos. Later on, she went to an all girl catholic school, Colegio Madre Matilde.

Jenny continued her studies in the catholic school, but when she was in 7th grade, one month after she started the year, she left Venezuela and moved to a new place, a place that would change her forever, in terms of people surrounding her and family. My aunt, Tiffany, came to Venezuela to visit us from NYC, with her husband, Leroy, and their little baby, Raymond in 1988. Tiffany (we call her Yuk), has lived in Venezuela until 1986 or 1987, and then left to go to NYC, Jenny was very close to her. When they came in 1988 and left to go back to NYC, Jenny cried, she wanted to go with them. My dad saw this and since probably the US would give more opportunity to Jenny, he decided to have her go to NYC to continue her education. She left Venezuela at the end of 1988. I wanted to go with her, but according to my parents, I was too little. They promised me that I would go there eventually, which I did.

Jenny studied Junior HS and HS in NYC. Then she went to New York University for her college education. At first, she wanted to go into medicine, then decided to change to business. What a drastic change of mind!!! Probably she is afraid of blood. She graduated in 1998 in Finance and Information System.

After graduation, and after spending so much time looking for a job, she finally got an offer, well, two offers. I remember that she spent a hard time deciding between the two offers, one from Marsh (in the finance field), and one from Deutsche Bank (in the technology field, I believe). She chose to go to work for Marsh, and besides working, she studied for her CFA and other exams related to the financial field; she was also preparing for her GMAT with the intention of obtaining an MBA in the future. She had a great career where she was recently promoted to be an Assistant Vice President at her company. During her free time she would volunteer to be a tutor for high school students. However, her life was not always about work, she spent time with her friends and family, and she traveled to numerous places within the states. I guess she really enjoyed her life...being 25 years old and having a promising career, but who would have thought that one terrible day such as Sept. 11th, 2001 would have occurred. Even though Jenny would not be here among us anymore, she will always be remembered in our hearts ...

Biografía

Jenny nació en la mañana de Agosto 27, 1976. Ella nació en la Policlínica Santiago de León, Caracas, en el bello país de Venezuela. Ella tiene una hermana menor, Mary (yo), y un hermano menor, William.

Jenny estudió preparatorio en el Colegio Los Dos Caminos. Más tarde, ella fue a un colegio católico, Colegio Madre Matilde.

Jenny empezó 7o grado, pero ella se fue del colegio después de un mes en rumbo a un nuevo lugar, un lugar que la cambiaría para siempre, en términos de las personas y de la familia que la rodea. Mi tía, Tiffany, vino a Venezuela a visitarnos de NYC, con su esposo, Leroy, y su pequeño bebé, Raymond en 1988. Tiffany (nosotros les decíamos Yuk), ha vivido en Venezuela hasta 1986 o 1987, y después se fue a NYC, Jenny era muy cercana a ella. Cuando ellos vinieron en 1988 y se regresaron para NYC, Jenny lloró, ella quería ir con ellos. Mi papá vió esto y ya que probablemente Estados Unidos le daría más oportunidad a Jenny, él decidió dejarla ir a NYC para continuar su educación. Ella se fue de Venezuela al final de 1988. Yo quería ir con ella, pero de acuerdo con mis padres, yo era demasiado pequeña. Ellos me prometieron que iría ahí eventualmente, y así sucedió.

Jenny estudió secundaria o bachillerato en NYC. Luego, ella fue a New York University para la universidad. Al principio, ella quería entrar en medicina, después decidió cambiar a negocios (¿es así en español?). ¡Que cambio dramático! Probablemente ella le tenía miedo a la sangre. Ella se graduó en 1998 en Finanzas y Sistemas de Información.

Después de graduarse, y después de pasar mucho tiempo buscando un trabajo, a ella finalmente le dieron una oferta de trabajo, bueno, dos ofertas. Recuerdo que ella pasó mucho tiempo decidiendo entre las dos ofertas de trabajo, uno de Marsh (en el campo de finanzas), y otro de Deutsche Bank (en el campo de tecnología, creo). Ella decidió ir a trabajar para Marsh, y además de trabajar, ella estudió para el CFA y para otros exámenes relacionados con la carrera de negocios; ella también estaba preparando para el GMAT con la intención de obtener un MBA en el futuro. Ella tenía una buena carrera por delante en donde recién la promovieron al puesto de Asistente de Vice-Presidente en su compañía. Durante su tiempo libre, ella voluntariamente daría clases particulares a unos estudiantes de bachiller. Sin embargo, su vida no era siempre del trabajo, ella pasó tiempo con su amigas(os) y familia y ella viajó a muchos lugares dentro del país. Yo creo que ella si ha disfrutado de su vida...teniendo 25 años y con una carrera muy prometedora, pero quién hubiera pensado que un día como 11 de Septiembre, 2001, pudiera haber ocurrido. Aunque Jenny no esté aquí con nosotras, ella siempre será recordada en nuestros corazones...
